10 Tips for New mums

  1. Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding can be frustrating some times , it’s the best way to give your baby the nutrition they need. Don’t hesitate to ask for support from a lactation consultant or a support group for new moms. One trick you can use when breastfeeding is to be reading or watching something you like . It helps take your mind off for a while and by the time you see you would have done a long breastfeeding time.
  2. Sleep: You may not get as much sleep as you used to and yes it’s normal. Sleep when your baby sleeps, and try to take naps whenever possible.
  3. Postpartum recovery: You just did an amazing job with your body. You brought life to this world and that is a lot. Take time time to recover. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and take the time you need to rest and heal. Take care of yourself too. Get a self care journal to help you.
  4. Changing Diapers: You will go through a lot of diaper changing in the first few weeks. Daiper change will not be as frequent when the baby is  some few months older . A year daiper plan or subscriptions is a cost effective way not to save on daiper.
  5. Baby gear: Babies need a lot of stuff, but you don’t necessarily need to buy everything right away. Focus on the essentials, When babies outgrow their early age clothes wash them and keep them for next baby, it saves you spending so much on your next baby. You will only need a few new ones.
  6. Postpartum emotions: It’s normal to experience a range of emotions after having a baby. Talk to your partner, friends, family members or a therapist if you need support.
  7. Baby’s development: Babies grow and change quickly, and it can be hard to keep up. Check with your pediatrician or a trusted resource to learn more about what to expect at different stages.
  8. Time management: Taking care of a baby is a full-time job, but you still need to take care of yourself and your other responsibilities. Consider asking for help from family and friends.
  9. Self-care: It’s important to take care of yourself physically and emotionally. Try to find time to do things you enjoy, like reading, taking a bath, watching a movie or going for a walk.
  10. Bonding with your baby: Bonding with your baby is important for both of you. Spend time cuddling, talking, and playing with your baby, and try to enjoy every moment.   You will miss those cute moments soon.
