Here are some foods to avoid during pregnancy:

Alcohol

It’s a big No for alcohol during pregnancy. It can have a very bad effect on the baby and lead to so many disorders such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Physical abnormalities, Neurological problems, Behavioral and emotional issues, Growth restrictions, Miscarriage, and stillbirth.

Raw or undercooked meats and eggs: 

These may have the potential to contain certain parasites and bacteria such as Listeria, salmonella and E.coli, Toxoplasmosis, which can cause food poisoning and affect or harm the baby.

Unpasteurized dairy products: 

Unpasteurized milk and soft cheeses can be harmful to babies, it may contain Listeria bacteria. It’s safer to avoid Brie, feta, and Camembert during this period.

Certain types of fish: 

Avoiding High-mercury fish like swordfish, sharks, king mackerel, and tilefish will be a way to play it safe, as mercury can adversely affect the baby’s developing nervous system. 

Raw seafood: 

Uncooked seafood may be contaminated and be carrying harmful bacteria and parasites.

Deli meats and processed meats: 

If you choose to eat meat in any form make sure it is properly cooked to avoid any contamination. Contaminated meat could carry bacteria that can affect the baby.

Raw sprouts

Sprouts (e.g., alfalfa, mung bean, clover) can harbor bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli, so it’s best to avoid them during pregnancy.

Caffeine

Taking too much caffeine during pregnancy is associated with some complications during prey. But avoid it during this period.

Wash vegetables and fruit thoroughly to get rid of pesticides and bacteria.
